About health management initiatives

Based on the company motto of "sell sincerity rather than products" SUGIMOTO & CO., LTD has valued the idea that "people" are an asset since its founding. We believe that it is important for each and every employee to demonstrate their abilities to the fullest in order to continuously increase corporate value.
To achieve this, it is essential to create an environment where employees can work safely and in good physical and mental health, and we have formulated the following health declaration.

Health declaration

  1. We will create a work environment where all employees can work in good physical and mental health.
  2. We will work to ensure a work-life balance in order to maintain and improve the health of our employees.
  3. We will support each employee to be health conscious and independently engage in activities to improve their health.

Promotion system

The Company appoints the president and executive officer as the chief health management officer and the ESG committee chair as the health management promotion officer, who oversees the promotion and initiatives of health management.
In addition, the ESG Committee will play a central role in collaborating with internal and external parties to promote health management throughout the organization.

We are pleased to announce that on March 10, 2025, we were certified as “KENKO. Investment for Health 2025” under the Health and Productivity Management Excellent Corporation Certification System established by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
In addition, our company has made a health declaration and is conducting business activities aiming to create an environment in which employees can work safely and healthily both physically and mentally. We will continue to strive to continuously improve our corporate value so that each employee can maximize their capabilities.

We support the Orix Buffaloes!

Concluded a naming rights agreement for Maishima Buffaloes Stadium

We concluded a naming rights agreement for Maishima Buffaloes Stadium with Osaka City Dome Co., Ltd. in January 2022. With the conclusion of this agreement, signs were put on the backstop and outfield fence of the stadium, and an ad was placed on the mini schedule.
In the future, we will continue to be actively involved in regional vitalization and CSR activities in a variety of fields.

Community social contribution activities through donations

As a social contribution initiative,We made a donation.

In January 2025, our company made a donation to Osaka Prefecture’s “Children’s Bright Future Fund” and Aichi Prefecture’s “Children’s Shining Future Fund.”In recognition of this support activity, we received letters of appreciation from Osaka and Aichi prefectures.In the future, our company will continue to work in various fields. We will actively work on creating a better society and contributing to society.

We participated in the “Osaka Marathon ‘Clean UP’ Operation.”

In January 2025, our company made a donation to Osaka Prefecture’s “Children’s Shining Future Fund”, Aichi Prefecture’s “Children’s Shining Future Fund.”, Tokyo Ota Ward’s “Children’s Support Fund”, Tokyo, Sumida Ward’s “Sumida Chikara Support Fund”. As a general trading company of measuring instruments, industrial equipment, and machine tools, SUGIMOTO & CO., LTD. will promote the proposal and sale of environmentally friendly production equipment through its business activities, contribute to society while coexisting with the environment, and consider global environmental conservation.


General Employer Action Plan

In order to create a work environment where all employees can thrive—enabling them to fully demonstrate their abilities while balancing work and childcare responsibilities—we have formulated the following action plan.

Goal 1

Establish a support system for employees returning from childcare leave

Measures
  • Provide regular updates and company information to employees on childcare leave
  • Review and improve internal systems to support a smooth return to work
  • Introduce a childcare subsidy program through outsourced employee benefit services
Goal 2

Increase the childcare leave usage rate among male employees to 40% or more

Measures
  • Share information about childcare leave through notice within the company
  • Promote the use of childcare leave among male employees and develop a more supportive work environment
Goal 3

Improve work-life balance by keeping the average total monthly overtime and holiday work per employee under 13 hours, and by encouraging the use of paid leave

Measures
  • Track and report the average overtime hours for each department monthly, and disclose these figures to managers for evaluation
  • Encourage employees to plan and take paid leave, and create a workplace that supports such practices

Action Plan for the Promotion of Women’s Participation and Advancement in the Workplace

We have established the following action plan to create an employment environment in which women can play active roles in the workplace.
By creating an environment in which employees can balance work and childcare and can work comfortably, we will ensure that all employees can fully exercise their abilities.

The proportion of women in managerial positions remains low, and appointments of women to executive roles have not yet been achieved.
Consequently, it has been challenging to fully reflect diverse perspectives in the decision-making process.

3. Goal, Approach, and Period

Goal 1

We will implement year-round recruitment of female career-track employees and strive to secure at least 30% of hires annually.

  • In our recruitment activities, we will actively promote the achievements of our female employees.
  • We will promote the development of systems that support work-life balance, aiming to create a company that is attractive to women.
Goal 2

Our goal is to achieve a 10% representation of female managers and executives by April 2030.

  • We will continuously implement in-house training programs to develop managerial staff and executives.
